Since 1609 in the heart of Neustift am Walde, the family Wolff spoils its guests
with good viennese kitchen and exceptional wines from the own wineyard. The blend
of ambience and traditional wine culture makes Heurigen Wolff one of the most
exclusive traditional wine taverns at Neustift am Walde.
Neustift am Walde is a popular Wine-Village lying at the northwest of Vienna. The village is arranged in two rows of houses with a narrow street in the middle, that gives the village a very cosy atmosphere.
The village was first documented in 1330. The name Neustift am Walde ("meaning the donation close to the forest") is first mentioned in 1413, when the property was willed to the Dorotheerstift in Vienna. In 1892, Neustift became a part of Vienna, and today it is a part of Vienna's 19th district. The village's landmark is the parish church Neustift am Walde. Every year in August the "Neustifter Kirtag (fair)" takes place, a custom originating from the 18th century, this traditional fair is very popular throughout Vienna.
Since the 19th century the importance of Wine and Forest was vast: In 1826 one third of the land was forest, only ten percent were used for cultivation, one fourth was used as a vineyard. Today, Neustift am Walde is associated with good wine and Viennese tavern culture.
The Heurigenshow offers in the unique atmosphere of the Heurigen Wolff music wanderings from the Wienerlied to the Operette:
