Amadeus Concerts Vienna
An intimate classical music experience

The Amadeus Concerts offer an intimate introduction to Vienna's rich musical tradition, bringing the audience unusually close to the musicians in the small Salon Karlsplatz at the Künstlerhaus. The ensemble brings together violin, violoncello, double bass and piano, joined by a soprano, creating a varied mix of instrumental and vocal music.
The one-hour programme combines well-known classical works with the waltzes and polkas that have become inseparably associated with Vienna.

Music by Johann Strauss, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johannes Brahms, Antonio Vivaldi and Ludwig van Beethoven features in the repertoire, while the exact selection and order of the pieces may vary from one performance to another.
The concert is moderated in English. After the concert, you are invited to meet the musicians over a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.

Concert dates and ticket prices

The Amadeus concerts are performed throughout the year at the Künstlerhaus Vienna. The concerts begin at 19:00 (7:00pm).

• Duration: The concert lasts approximately 60 minutes. There is no intermission.
• Admission: Doors open 30 minutes before the concert. Admission is no longer possible once the performance has begun.
• Seating: Seating is available in two categories: Premium (rows 1 - 3) and Standard (rows 4 - 7).
• Seat selection: Seats are not individually numbered. There is free seating within the booked category. Staff are available to assist with finding a seat.
• After the concert: Guests have the opportunity to meet and talk with the musicians after the concert over a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.
• Children: Children under the age of 6 are not permitted to attend. Children aged 6 to 16 may only attend when accompanied by an adult. Discounted tickets are available for children aged 6 to 16.
• Wheelchair access: The Salon Karlsplatz is accessible by lift. Please let us know when booking if you require wheelchair access, as the entrance ramp needs to be prepared in advance.
• Cloakroom: A free cloakroom is available.
• Dress code: There is no strict dress code for the concerts. Most guests choose smart casual attire, although elegant evening wear is equally welcome. We simply ask that guests dress neatly and appropriately for the occasion.

Künstlerhaus Vienna

The Künstlerhaus on Karlsplatz, opposite the St. Charles Church and only a short walk from the Haus der Industrie, was among the first buildings erected as part of Vienna's new Ringstraße development, the grand boulevard created after Emperor Franz Joseph ordered the demolition of the old city walls in 1857.
Built between 1865 and 1868, the Neo-Renaissance building was designed by architect August Weber, who drew inspiration from the Italian Renaissance villas of Jacopo Sansovino.
The Künstlerhaus opened on September 1, 1868 — almost nine months before the nearby Vienna Court Opera, today's Vienna State Opera, and sixteen months before the neighbouring Musikverein.

Inside the Künstlerhaus, the Amadeus Concerts take place in the Salon Karlsplatz, an intimate room with parquet flooring, wood-panelled walls, painted portraits beneath a gilded ceiling and a grand piano. With seating for around 70 guests, the salon places the audience unusually close to the musicians.

• Air conditioning and heating: The Salon Karlsplatz is heated in winter and air-conditioned in summer.
• Wheelchair access: The Salon Karlsplatz is accessible by lift. Please let us know when booking if you require wheelchair access, as the entrance ramp needs to be prepared in advance.
• Accessible toilets: A wheelchair-accessible toilet is available.
• Smoking: Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the Künstlerhaus.

How to get to the Künstlerhaus

By public transport

The Künstlerhaus is located directly at the major transport hub Karlsplatz, served by underground lines U1, U2 and U4. Tram lines D, 1, 2, 62 and 71 also stop within a short walk.

By car

As with most concert venues in Vienna's first district (Innere Stadt), we recommend not going there by car. Vienna's historic centre has numerous narrow and one-way streets, and parking spaces can be difficult to find.

Please note that Vienna has a city-wide paid short-term parking zone (Kurzparkzone), generally in effect Monday to Friday (working days) from 9:00 to 22:00, with a maximum parking time of two hours. A valid parking ticket (Parkschein) is required when parking on the street during these hours. Parking tickets can be purchased at tobacconists and other sales points or electronically using Vienna's HANDYPARKEN service on your mobile phone.
For concert visitors arriving by car, a parking garage is usually the more convenient option.

By taxi
