Dress code for our concerts
Classical concerts in Vienna

Except if stated otherwise there is no strict dress code for the regular concerts. Not welcome are training clothes or athletic wear like for example cyclist shorts, muscle shirts, hoodies or belly tops. Decent training shoes like sneakers are fine.
Many of our guests dress for the occassion and smart casual clothing has become somewhat expected. For men for example a button down shirt with a collar, long trousers and closed-toe shoes; a tie is optional. For women a pantsuit or a costume, with a matching top; a blazer is optional.

Christmas and New Year

For the Christmas concerts and the New Year concerts – all concerts from December 24th to January 1st – we recommend semi-formal wear or at least smart casual clothing.

Gala-Events and Balls

Semi-formal clothing, or at least evening wear, is expected at gala events such as the Christmas Gala Evening at the Kursalon Wien or the New Year's Eve Gala at the Kursalon Wien.
For men, the tailcoat is a suitable garment for balls, although in many places a tuxedo is also allowed. Elegant evening or ball gowns are recommended for women. The exact – usually strict – dress code can be found in the event description.
